What is happening now: the touch, the card, the receipt, the ticket, the order on the boardThe order path: glass, PC, card terminal, printer, then out to the kitchen and the pickup boardCables carry each step: USB inside the kiosk, then Ethernet to the switch, the floor box and the store router, which feeds the kitchen and reaches the bankA 27-inch portrait kiosk (1080 × 1920) with the left side panel off. Tap the glass: its projected-capacitive sensor is scanned 120 times a second and the touch controller reports the point over USB to the PC. At Pay the PC sends only the amount to the card terminal, which reads the card at 13.56 MHz and sends it, encrypted, through the store router to the bank; the approval comes back in about 1.6 s. Over RM 250 a contactless card needs a PIN. The order then goes to the kitchen ticket printer and onto the pickup board, where it stays Preparing for the cooking time (3 min, shown 30× faster) before it turns Ready. The receipt is 120 mm of 80 mm thermal paper at 150 mm/s, 576 dots per line, from a 150 mm roll that holds about 229 m. Break it with the buttons: run the paper low, pull the network cable (card payments fall back to the kiosk's 4G modem and the order waits until the cable is back), decline a card, or place an order big enough to need a PIN.
